Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is approximately 2 years old and has a very chiseled physique. This handsome boy is very intent on his person wondering what the next activity will be. Charlie would make a fantastic companion for someone wanting an athletic dog and is willing to put more time and training in.

Nick

Nick is a real sweet heart with tons of cuddles and kisses to give to everyone he meets! He seems to seek out and enjoy the company of all the dogs he has met so far and shows no sign of agression. He is a respectful dog and is very well behaved inside under supervision. When Nick is off leash in a fenced in yard he can get a little too excited for him to be around small children but he is easliy calmed down by making him sit and lye down. He will do almost anything you ask at the snap of your finger and is a quick learner, making training fun and easy! He walks very well and barley ever pulls on the leash, Nick will leave you with a big smile and a happy heart!

Duchess (Adopted)

Duchess, or as we call her Duchee came to us on Easter Sunday. She became an instant fit with our family. From the moment we walked into the house where she was, she has been nothing but an absolute doll. She was very excited to meet us and did not mind crawling up into my lap. She walked into our house, and showed absolutely no aggression towards our 2 small dogs ( a 5lb Mini Pomeranian, and 3 lb Malti-Poo), or to the 3 cats. Her and Tibius (our 1.5 year old Pit x) have gotten along really good and spend hours playing in the yard.

Considering Duchee did not know about treats prior to moving in, she has since learnt that those treats I have in my pocket are a good thing. She walks nicely on a leash (I use a Halti) and is getting better and better in populated places, ie. baseball park. She now knows how to sit and will sometimes even stay!! Duchee is obviously a very loyal girl, and is definitely quite devoted to the one who is with her the most..... I can't even go to the bathroom without her waiting outside the door.

My children and I have really enjoyed having Duchee with us, and are hoping that a family with a big heart can make room for a special girl.

Thanks for the opportunity to have her in our life.

Petey(Adopted)

 Petey is 7 months old.

New Pictures (February 10,2009)

Petey hanging out with his foster pals

I am the oldest child in peteys foster family and i would just like to say that Petey is a wonderful dog to have around although he does have a tendancy to chew but that is probably just because he is a puppy he also likes to chase the cats but other that that he is great with the other dogs and great with me and my siblings. He listens well and responds to orders most of the time.

March 17th update:

My name is Sabina, I am the oldest child in Petey's foster family. I have had a great time living with Petey, he is very well behaved, even though he can be quite playful he is the most lovable dog you will ever meet, he loves cuddling on the couch and being let out to play in the backyard. Petey knows most simple commands, such as come, sit, stay and he can "shake a paw" almost every time you ask him to. Petey is absolutely great with children, people and other dogs, he is pretty good with cats, he wont try to hurt a cat, but he should be watched while around them. Petey is good at mealtime and is fine with being stuck in the crate for awhile. Petey would be best off in a home full of love with an owner that has time for cuddles and play, he would like his owner to pay lots of attention to him and had unlimited love for him.

Grace ( Adopted)

Grace is around 3 years old, loves hugs and car rides.

Grace will need a home that has lots of dog experience , Grace has a  high prey drive

so she probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. Grace doesn't like meeting new dog friends,

and would be best as an only dog (she prefers people). However, with the right

match, Grace has and can live with another dog.

Wilma *Adopted*

Wilma is 12 weeks old

Wilma is such a sweetie. She loves to play and snuggle. She's easy to train, very eager to please, walks well off leash when we're out in the woods (haven't tried off leash near the road yet), pretty good on leash (only a little pulling), comes when she's called, plays really well with other dogs. She's still very much a puppy and needs someone with a lot of time to devote to her.

Bullies need lots of attention and care.

Are you willing to let your dog inside with

your family? A bully that lives with a

family is a very happy dog. A bully left alone out side in the back yard can be

depressed or destructive. Bullies are excellent companions with the right care,

socialization, and training.Be ready to handle the discriminations from ignorant and unknowing people.

who may assume the worst about you when they see you own a bully.Don’t get a bully because you want to

have that image or cool look. If that’s your main reason .

Can you afford vet bill when you dog needs vaccinations updates? Will you

have money when your dog gets sick? Are you able to buy food, toys etc.

A bully has a lot of energy. If they don’t get the proper exercise they can get fat.

So if you don’t plan on exercising your dog. A bully is the wrong  dog for you.

"Pit bull" is not a breed. It's a generic term often used to describe several

breeds of dogs with similar traits and characteristics.

Pit bull-type dogs are a little more of everything a dog can be.

*Who We Are*

It all started 18 years ago with a jet black girl (Britta). We spent 14 1/2 years

hearing all these bad things about the breed! Quotes like, How can you have

your children around a vicious killer! Aren't you afraid for your life?

You know when they get old, they go Crazy, how about a 7 year old girl

at school, when we are picking up our kids, she say's to my kid,I can't come

over to your house because you have a pit bull .So our goal is to teach

people and the breed to be Respectabull! Do your home work and

you will see the true dog behind the media!

                                     *Adopting a friend*

Puppies :$250.00 Adult dogs:$175.00 First you will have to fill out a adoption form

to see if you meet requirement! We do home check, follow up checks .we require you

to research the breed to make shore they are for you and you for them. Do you know

what BSL means in your town or city? No dog will leave our care until its spayed/neutered

                  *Poems*

This is a poem that we like This was posted on another board. It was written by a woman named Angie who works in a shelter here in Ontario. Very sad poem, but very powerful.

I killed Another Pit Bull Today

I killed Another Pit Bull Today Another day, another damn dollar I shake my head, and hand back the collar. I killed another pit bull today What do you people want me to say? Believe I heard this story before Starts with cute little puppy, say no more, Then that puppy grew up quick This story is starting to make me sick. It?s easy for you to walk through my door But my head hurts and my heart is sore So I killed another Pit Bull today People, I don?t know what to say Dogs at large and people don?t care, Back yard breeders, responsible owner is rare Did not know if my dog should see a vet Not spayed or vaccinated either I bet My shelter door is a revolving one Everyday when I think I am done Another Pit Bull Dies that day Please don?t ask, I don?t know what to say In the truck just driving around Barking dogs is a pleasant sound Pit Bull no muzzle, Breed ban in This dog will die, what a Sin. You call me a killer, a murderer right You? Are the irresponsible owner in my sight So I killed another Pit bull today And through my tears, I can not say I got this job so I could care For the unwanted animals, how is this fair? Irresponsible owner makes me clean up their mess My emotions are drained and I need some rest My future is not looking too bright Tomorrow things might look better in different light But for now I will kill another Pit bull today But you did this; not me is all I can say.

                                    *The Pit Bull*

You think she's mean and angry. But she's really kind and keen.

She looks very tuff,  But she's really full of fluff.

She eats a lot of treats. But she's really kind of neat.

She is a big dog, But she's really not a hog.

She takes up your bed, And that's all i should have said.
