If you see a dog that you are interested in, please apply for them. Often we have people who assume that the dog is already adopted. If the dog is listed on this page, it is available for adoption. Once we have a solid application pending, we will update the page by listing the dog as "pending". If you don't see what you are looking for, please check back often!

Sweet soft Rosalie...this dog is an absolute stunner and a sweet, gentle girl. Her foster home is working to put some weight on her and bring her out of her shell, but already Rosalie is proving to be wonderful with dogs and people....stay tuned to see how she progresses.

Why are brindle dogs sometimes the last to be adopted? We don't know, but as a result, this seriously awesome dog is paying the price. In foster since January, this boy has proved to be a favorite dog for all who have met him. He's young, smart, cute as a button and very easy going. His temperament is stellar-good with kids and dogs. Hiro would make an excellent family dog and would love to be either the only dog or a new addition to your pack.
Hiro knows basic commands such as sit, stay and come. A true cuddle bug, Hiro would be happy to snuggle up to you on the couch or in bed, but he is also crate trained.
Hiro is still working on house training, but is up to date on shots and is neutered and dewormed.
While he is unknown with cats, he loves other dogs and is very dog social. He tends to get excited when he sees other dogs on leash, but is fine when he greets them. Fostered with 2 other pit bulls, Hiro enjoys wrestling, eating bones and sunbathing on the deck. Hiro is also great with kids, originally fostered with a 5 year old boy.
Hiro would do well in a home with moderate exercise. His foster home calls him a "quick study" and says that he's on when he's on and he's done when he's done! So, if you want a jogging partner and a lap dog all rolled up in one, Hiro is your boy.

Small and cute, Smartie is a great dog for a first time pit bull owner or someone just looking for a well behaved, easy dog. She knows sit, down, shake a paw, stay...and she listens very well! At 1 year, Smartie is a young dog but has outgrown her puppy craziness! She benifits from proper introductions with other dogs but would be fine in a house where she is not the only dog. Smartie is also wonderful with cats and would be fine living with a feline companion or 2! Smartie would do well in a home with older kids. Smartie is showing her foster family that even a young teenager can train her, and she's starting basic agility- flying over the jumps with ease!

Casha is the best of the best. She's wowed everyone who has met her, from her start at the Victoria SPCA and now in our program. Casha lost her leg due to an old injury that was left untreated, by the time she was surrendered it was too late to save it. The wonderful people at the Victoria SPCA saw something special in this girl, and they worked to rehab Casha. She's adapted well to life with 3 legs, getting around like she has 4.
Casha is a wonder dog in the house. Well mannered and calm, she listens like a dream and shows how well she knows her basics. She is easy to train and very food motivated. Casha is wonderfully crate trained, putting herself to bed in it despite being allowed to sleep on her foster parent's bed! She is also very well behaved and non-destructive when left alone in the house.
Casha walks well on leash. She can pull but will listen if you tell her to heel. Despite hopping along on 3 legs, walk time is one of Cahsa's favorite things.
Casha is gentle with children, currently fostered with a 6 year old boy. HOWEVER, her adoptive home should be that with older or dog savvy children, as she isn't stable on her 3 legs to have kids hanging on her and will need to have her space respected as she does for kids.
Casha is 5 and a 1/2 and is spayed. She's been made to have puppies in her past life and is looking forward to life as just a family pet.
Casha is unknown with cats so will be adopted to a home without them. Casha is selective about the dogs she meets and will need proper intros to feel comfortable. She is not the kind of girl who will go to the dog park, she'd rather be out and about with her humans. She is currently fostered with 3 other dogs and has been wonderful with them, as long as she is supervised as she tends to get too excited during play. She's been snarked at by both a grumpy Boston Terrier and a Weiner dog, and she ignored both. She's also meeting her foster sisters with licks and tail wags through the baby gate. Casha needs her handler to be confident and to tell her what to do as she will listen if she is given proper guidance.
Casha is such a sweet, loving, VERY smart dog who has touched the hearts of hundreds. She is a great breed ambassador and her mission in life could very well be to break down the sterotypes of what big, black pit bulls with cropped ears should be, as she is NOT a scary dog, but just a girl with a big head and an even bigger heart!
Her foster home claims that Casha is the easiest foster they have ever had in their house, and say that her adopter is going to be a VERY lucky person.

8 years old and quite the catch! Evette spent her first 8 years breeding pups, now she's spayed and looking for her own home. Evette is good with other dogs and all people including kids. She's smart, funny and very vocal, greeting you in the morning with a lovely "Whooo whoooo"! It is believed that Evette is Respect-A-Bull's Casha's mom....they share the same white toes, white chest and love for singing!
Evette was tied to a tree and treated poorly. When the wonderful people at the SPCA found her, she was dealing with injuries that caused her tremendous pain. Despite that, she holds no ill will towards humans. She is just loving life in her foster home and enjoying the luxury of sleeping on a bed!
Evette is proving to be a a clumsy swimmer, but a born water dog. She'd love the chance to swim all day as she perfects her doggy paddle. A recent trip to the river found her in and out of the water like a seal, not giving up despite her clumsy strokes!
Evette needs someone special to give her a chance. While black dogs are normally adopted last, look passed this and you'll be glad that you did. Her body bears the marks of her past, with cropped ears some might think that she looks "scary", but Evette is a total softy and doesn't live up to her tough girl image.
Her foster home reports that she is a great cuddler, a joy to have around and easy to deal with. Although pit bulls can live to 16 and beyond, due to Evette's age she'll be adopted with a reduced adoption fee of $150.

Here is a clear case where photos don't do justice! Ginger is a petite, beautiful girl who is loving life after being kept by a backyard breeder. Now she's spayed, and she's getting on with enjoying life! Ginger is very eager to please and is learning fast. Currently fostered with another dog, Ginger is great with dogs, cats and older kids. Ginger can get excited and could knock over smaller children.
Ginger has recently moved into a new foster home where she can get a bit more one on one. She's impressed her foster mom so much, especially with her manners during Respect-A-Bull's recent fundraising yard sale when she was an ambassador for her breed, greeting all of the shoppers with great manners. Her foster mom says that Ginger will be a "hard one to give up", so if you are looking for a new dog, consider applying for Ginger before she's already adopted!
Courtesy adoptable dogs are not available for adoption through Respect-A-Bull. They are at shelters and rescue groups who we work closely with. If you are looking for a dog, please contact the shelters personally, as their dogs change quicker than we can update. Please note that Respect-a-bull does not temperament test courtesy posted dogs! We have not met the dogs in this section and are not responsible for them. If you would like to know more about them, please contact the SPCA where they are located.
