There are 3 of Sophie's pups left! They are wonderful dogs who have been waiting way to long for their homes. Roxy, Izzy and Rasputin are great dogs. Socialized with everything under the sun, from kids to chickens to dogs and cats, these dogs have had a great start in life and just need someone to give them the home they deserve!
Sophie was abandoned in the woods just days away from giving birth. Very pregnant and in need of a warm, safe place to have her pups, Sophie made it through a network of dog lovers and into the RespectABull program. Sophie's pups are great dogs who have been raised on a farm with chickens, cats, horses and cows.
With some of the pups already adopted, it is time for the rest to find their homes!
Here's their mom Sophie....

Momma Ginger:
Gonzo, the father of the puppies:
Ginger and Gonzo have lived their whole lives outside. They were seized by Victoria SPCA's cruelty investigations department because their owner failed to adequately provide for them. Despite their less than ideal beginning to their young lives, they love to cuddle. They love any attention. Going for walks is new for them both. Both Ginger and Gonzo need an owner who will commit to them, someone who will teach them what it means to be inside the home and to be a part of a family. When Ginger was seized she was giving birth outside in the cold and rain. Two puppies died. The other 10 puppies are healthy and growing fast, their eyes are open now and they are starting to walk around and play with each other! Ginger is the best mom we have had through our program!
Gonzo was available through the Victoria SPCA, but has been adopted. While they are not ready to go yet, if you are interested in applying for Ginger or her pups, please fill out an application found on our site today.

Stanley is a 2 year old neutered male. He is also a bit of a celebrity, although he doesn't know it. While the world watches his video, he spends his time destuffing toys and proving that even the most durable Kong is no match for him.
Stanley is VERY dog social. He loves everyone he meets and is great with kids. We don't know if he's good with cats, but we will be testing him soon. He gets excited when he sees other dogs on leash but we are working with him on that as he redirects easily.
Stanley was a stray on the streets of L.A. before coming into our care, and it's possible that he's never spent much time in a house. While he is mostly house trained, he needs someone to fine tune this. If he is given the choice, he'd rather go outside! He needs some work with little things, for example, Stanley is just learning to navigate flights of stairs!
We are now taking applications for Stanley's adoption. Please see below for the start to Stanley's story.

An amazing person from a cocker spaniel rescue in California goes into a high-kill shelter on Dec.23/09 to pull a dog. Just one. However, as the rescuer walks past the kennels full of dogs that will surely not be alive by New Years Day, they happen upon this beautiful, broken soul that looked like he had given up hope, and seemed like he knew his time had come. Well, after an onslaught of emails through various networking and rescue contacts, they found this fellow a rescue that would take him in and foster him in a home environment. That rescue is Respect-A-Bull Rescue, located right here on Vancouver Island.
And thank you, thank you, thank you to Cathy of 'Camp Cocker' for working so diligently to find a place for Stanley. You are an inspiration to all those of us working in rescue.
Kilo is 2 year old Pit Bull mix. If you show him rules and boundaries you will have an amazing dog. He is currently fostered with 2 other dogs and 2 children and is doing wonderfully. He loves to play . If you are looking for a large, dog social boy to add to your family, Kilo is your man!
Kilo loves to chase his ball and knows basic commands such as sit, lay down and stay. He's learning leash manners but is doing great. Kilo has shown seperation anxiety in the past but is doing well at his foster home with proper exercise. Kilo is amazing with kids and is living with a 5 and 8 year old.

Pending Adoption Cupid's mom was found as a stray just before Christmas and the owners then surrendered her and the pups to the SPCA. Aside from being insanely cute, Cupid is living at the Respect-A-Bull headquarters where he is living with kids and other dogs. He is also being socialized with chickens, horses and cows!
The runt of his litter, Cupid makes up in personality where he lacks in size. He's a smart, feisty little guy! Cute as a button and with a perfect red nose, Cupid is up to date on shots and is neutered. If you are interested in Cupid, fill out the application today!

Courtesy adoptable dogs are not available for adoption through Respect-A-Bull. They are at shelters and rescue groups who we work closely with. If you are looking for a dog, please contact the shelters personally, as dogs come quicker than we can update.

My name is willow. I am a brindle boxer/pit bull cross who weighs about 90lbs. I am very affectionate, love belly rubs, long walks and my ball. I have an old injury on my rear paw but it does not slow me down but I need to wear a special boot if walked on gravel. My perfect home would be a house with fully fenced yard and no other pets. I do get along with other dogs but would prefer to be the only child. NO CATS, please! I could adjust to family life with older children. I have been in the pound for 5 months and really need a family.........if this is you please email my guardian Tracy @ tseille@squamish.ca or call the district of Squamish Animal Shelter 604-815-6866
